THE ENCOURAGEMENT AND PROMOTION OF YOUNG PEOPLE
IN THEIR DEVELOPMENT, CULTURAL ACHIEVEMENTS AND CAREERS
T
he Society asks many centres of professional learning to identify talented
young people who are in need of financial support and encouragement
as they enter their careers, and selects the strongest candidates to
receive assistance from the Society’s Benevolent Fund. Currently the
list of these Institutions includes The Royal College of Music, The
Guildhall School of Music, The Arts Educational Trust, the City of
London Arts School, The Royal School of Needlework,The Middle and the
Inner Temple, The Scout Association, The Territorial Army, The Army
and the Combined Cadet Forces, Christ’s Hospital School, and St. Luke’s
Hospital for the Clergy. The Society also helped to fund two qualified
therapists, through Voluntary Service Overseas, (VSO), in Sri Lanka,
after the Tsunami and a third in Eritrea as a teacher in a remote village
and it will continue to send volunteers on quests to countries in need
of qualified guidance and leadership. The Society keeps in touch with
its Volunteers and Award Winners to encourage them as they progress
in their careers and in society.
